Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 cup water, warmish
- 2 ½ teaspoons yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon Maize’In Mexican Rub, divided
- 1 cup tomato puree or pizza sauce
- 2 cups grated cheese
- Shredded chicken, vegetables, fresh herbs and other pizza toppings of choice
Instructions
- In a large bowl add the water, sugar and yeast. Sit 10 minutes until frothy. Add the flour, 1 tablespoon of the Maize’in Mexican and salt and mix well, bringing together with your hands and kneading into a ball. Leave to rest 20 minutes while you prepare the toppings.
- Mix the tomato puree or pizza sauce with remaining 1 tablespoon of NMaize’in Mexican.
- Divide dough into 4 pieces and using your fingers, press into a generally even rectangle shape, being careful not to tear the dough. Spread a tablespoon of sauce over one half of the dough, leaving a small border empty. Top with preferred toppings and sprinkle with grated cheese
- Pull the untopped size of the calzone dough over top and press down to seal. Place on a piece of baking paper and cook in the air fryer for 8 minutes. Check doneness, turn and cook a further 2 minutes as necessary depending on your air fryer.
